Type-type-type

Close to finishing. I expect to finish NaNoWriMo on time, even if I cut it a bit close.

Soon Skyrim

Sooooooon, I'll finish my novel and start Skyrim. I'll probably finish about a week ahead of schedule and be able to enjoy the game. I bought and installed it on the day it released and have somehow fought the urge to just play it.

And not soon like Jagex says it, but soon with a solid estimate on dates, not some bullshit about when it's ready.

NaNoWriMo is the Shit

NaNoWriMo.

National Novel Writing Month.

1 November to 30 November. 30 days and nights. The goal is to write 50000 words in those 30 days and nights. Take a page from their website on the idea: a novel is just a lengthy work of fiction. So 50000 words is a very, very short novel. Most are closer to 70000, but there's nothing wrong with a fifty.

The goal is to write a 50000 word novel in a month's span, not a good 50000 novel in a month's span. You can write crap. There's a section dedicated to dirty tricks and clean tricks on the forum for reaching the word count on time. As long as you write the damned thing, you're golden.

This goes for me, too. I usually enjoy writing, and this will be a nice bit of fast fun. I ignored it last year, but I'mma do this thing this year. The problem with NaNo this year is it dropped into the middle of the busiest time of my year. Half of NaNoWriMo is in the middle of my exams, I have a writing course to start and I've registered for a History course with Cambridge University (it's actually the British International College, but I say Cambridge because it sounds better). This is not the time to be pounding out a novel.

That's why I picked this time to pound out a novel.

It's not hard.

I wrote this post before posting it, days before, actually. I'm playing around with the post scheduling system. I've got Just over 23000 words as of the 14th of November, so I'm ahead of schedule (barely).

If you haven't started and you're new to this, it's probably too late. Good luck next year.
